Burin Peninsula Environmental Reform Committee Inc. Burin Peninsula Environmental Reform Committee Inc. (BPERC)
The primary focus of the BPERC is to provide communities on the peninsula with information about local environmental issues and to provide them with connections to organizations that work to find solutions.
 
Climate Change Champions Climate Change Champions
Green Venture, Environment Hamilton and The City of Hamilton have partnered together to create Climate Change Champions. The project will engage 24 local businesses in making small changes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 10% by 2012 and 20% by 2020.
 
Ecology Ottawa Ecology Ottawa
Founded in 2006 by a group of passionate volunteers, Ecology Ottawa is a not-for-profit organization working to green the nation’s capital. The organization has grown to become the city's leading source of information about local environmental issues and events. Recently, Ecology Ottawa created the Green Buildings and Workplace Program to assist workplaces with developing and implementing action plans that dramatically reduce the ecological footprint of their buildings.
 
FBSC Foundation for Building Sustainable Communities
The Foundation for Building Sustainable Communities (FBSC), registered in 2003, is a federally incorporated Canadian not for profit organization based in Oshawa, Ontario. FBSC’s mission is to cultivate sustainable sensibilities and a mandate to preserve and repair the environment and ameliorate the living conditions of the underpriviledged.
 
Lights Out Canada Lights Out Canada
Lights Out Canada is a national event during which schools across the country turn off their lights and spend the day learning about climate change and what youth can do to lead more sustainable lifestyles. The idea for Lights Out Canada originated with Keleigh Annau in 2005. To date, over 100,000 students in 10 countries have participated in Lights Out World.
 
New Brunswick Climate Change Hub New Brunswick Climate Change Hub
Formed in 2001 as part of a national network of Hubs and funded by the Federal and Provincial Governments. The NBCCH, which is hosted by the New Brunswick Lung Association, facilitates the exchange of ideas, information and resources between three levels of government, private sector, and community-based organizations engaged in public education and outreach. They also conduct community outreach to engage leaders, build the capacity of municipal governments, community groups, business, and academia to address climate change.
